why do you have to hold your key in the start position? just tap it and let go...it will crank till it starts

then perhaps it was the mod since I did have those two fail to start incidents...anyway since doing the throttle body relearn it is acting as it should...thanks

Huh? The starter (on the '04 at least) only engages with the key is turned to start position, upon release, the starter disengages. Am I missing something here?

the starter on my 2007 requires I hold the key in the start position until the engine starts...perhaps the 2008 or newer have a different starter type...

So do our 2011 F250s, 350s, and 450s and 2017 550s and 750 at work. Single-touch start is definitely news to me, I've never seen that feature (not saying it doesn't exist because clearly it does).

I just tap my key and it will crank till it starts... Must of started in 08.
