Default Does my truck have a PCV valve? (5.4L)

2005 5.4L - went to Advance today (may have been my problem) to get oil, filter and other crap and asked for a pcv valve. dude looked through the computer and says they dont make one for my truck?

i know where the pcv valce tube goes into the airbox and followed it to the left side of the engine where it connects to a metal tube coming out of the engine. is this the pcv valve and does it come out? i pulled on it with my hand and couldnt budge it. should i go the "channel lock route"?

I don't know off the top of my head, but it may not be serviceable, that may be why they didn't list one, but it does have one.

no the newer fords dont have pcv valves. they have a fixed oriface valve that does not need replacing.

Why do you say that? I would like to know whether or not we have a servicable system. Nothing that the dealer near me lists a part for resale that is replaceable. The tech I spoke to (just happened to be at the parts counter) said he does not think there is one on the 5.4, but he is the Diesel tech.

No PCV valve. Engines with variable valve timing dont need PCV valves.

click on MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE, enter your info (04-08 F150) click GO, select driving condition: NORMAL (or whatever), select displacement: 5.4L, select tranny: AUTO, select drivetrain: 4X4, select VIEW ENTIRE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. scroll down to REPLACE PCV VALVE AT 120K MILES.
