There is a nice thread in the How to section about replacing the PCV valve. Agreed its for the 4.6 and threads into the valve cover. Will be at Ford parts tomorrow, will ask them direct. Conflicting answers bug me, can't tell if sender is serious and correct or getting his/her jollies.

the 2004 F150 5.4 3v motor does have a kinda like a pcv it's in the valve cover made into it I tried to change it one day.So I pulled on it and it would not come So I took a pair of channel locks and a hammer and pounded on it and broke a hole in my vale cover so I had to but a vale cover, when i took off the valve cover I looked inside and the pcv was made inside the valve cover and it does not come off.you can service the pcv by taking off the vale cover and power washing the hell out of it.I found out the hard wayAnd it'll take you about 5 hours to take off the valve cover and out it back on.I'm glad I did because the valve cover pcv was cloged up with burnt oil 125000 miles.tition motors need to be change of oil/water pump housing intake gaskets they just go bad,it's almost you have to build the motor, yet it's not that bad

the 4.6 has a removal pcv,the 2004-on up does not I have both trucks.the 2004 5.4 does have a pcv built into the vale cover you have to take the valve cove off and power wash it to service it.% hours and thats if you know what your doing.I know some people call me the mechanic from HELL! If I need to go I just go on the side of the truck if i need to dump I'll do that if I don't have paper, will you know a dog will come up and lick you know.and I just go.
