Default Does anyone recognize this CAI?

Someone is selling this locally yet they have no idea what brand it is. i know its a shot in the dark but the woman said it was on a 06 f-150 5.4. It is chrome and has the MAS with it.

Would this thing be worth $50? Doesnt the fact that the tube is metal cause it to heat us thus killing the CAI effect?

Also if I go off road is this thing more of a hydrolocking hazzard over the stock intake?

im thinking spectre, its probably custom built. you can buy all the parts necessary to build your own custom intake at spectreperformance.com as far as protecting the filter, you can buy a case from their site that covers the filter. goes for about 50.00 bucks

id take it honestly, or go with the gotts mod

I would get it man all intakes are the same in reality. I would buy a k&n filter for it though cause I'm not sure the age or makeup of the one on there

I wouldn't put that on my truck just based on the fact that it looks like it's from Autozone. And I'm not sure how that coupling would fit on the intake.

Definitely buy a new filter for it, also make sure all the fittings are sealed properly

So the fact its made of metal wont keep it from doing its job? I figured this would lead to heating of the air going into your engine.

The air moves to fast for it to see more than a 2deg increase in temperature. Kinda like the guys you see sticking a wet hand in liquid lead, it isn't in contact with the hot surface to make a difference in temperature.
