I'd guess about 15-20 miles on the hwy, I've never ran out of gas to try getting a good mileage figure yet!

How many gal does your tank hold. Mine holds 30 gal.
How many gal does your tank take when the light comes on? Mine was 24 gal.

What is your miles per gal. if it is 13 MPG and you have 6 gal left. you would have 78 miles to go? Maybe?

Another time I took 26 gal.

If I was driving In the mountains where I have gotten 10 MPG and I only had 4 gal left then 40 miles.

My driving varies so much I would need to be aware of where I am driving when the warning comes on.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is how you figure it.

Most manufactures have it set for 50 highway miles using their sticker mpgs.

Myself I never run below a 1/4 tank as it's not good on the fuel pump.........

Your suppose to have a 23 gallon tank. I had the light come on one time on a long stretch of highway drove 20 miles to a station and put in 21 gallon.
I have 07 FX2 sport.

My 04 has a 27 gallon tank the light usually comes on at 24.5 gallons knowing this because i usually fill up at 24.5 to 25 gallons, The most ive ever gone is 25.8 gallons knowing that i did not want to bleed the lines dry or hurt the fuel injection, I average about 15.5 mpg lately even more like 16.5 so i take 27-25 being 2 gallons x 15 mpg and come up with 30 miles till empty, but as recommend by others this could be harmful.

Just an FYI... an in-tank fuel pump is cooled by the gasoline itself in the tank. By letting your tank run till the light comes on your fuel pump is getting warmer than usual. This WILL decrease the fuel pump life. How much? I don't know, but I know that it's bad on the pump. Try an fill up whenever you are down to 1/4 or 1/8th of a tank...

I searched your other posts to determine exactly what platform you're running. I see you have a Scab. Then you ought to have a 27 gal tank like me. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas.../f150_07bb.pdf
Here's what I'm getting. I ran the thing outta gas once and only got about 10 miles on the highway once the low fuel light came on. (I was about 20 miles from the nearest station) I ended up filling just about 24 gals into a 27 gal tank. Other times my low fuel light would come on and I'd immediately get to a station and could only fill 21.5 gal. It's been about the last 10 tanks of fuel (always use 87) that my needle gauge is sporadic. When I will up, it'll pop up to 1/4 tank... it could stay this way until the next day after about 40 miles. Then it'll pop up to close to what should be a normal level.
Bottom line... My fuel level gauge and low fuel light have not been consistent.
I keep detailed daily logs of my travel and mileage however which is what I rely on. I've also had the the needle stay stuck on 1/4 tank for a long time when in fact I was just about out of gas... but my knowledge of mileage and fuel burn prompted me to fill-up, and it was 23.5 gal.
Darned faulty Ford gas gauges sensors!!
