They are nto bad, But I will steer clear if I can, I just don't trust aluminum in my trucks suspension.
I have seen them from an expedition IRS broke at the bushing collar just from backing into a curb to hard, and they are pretty thick. Ford went back to the steel on the Expeditions IRS as well. My control arms are not rusted, and I have a hard time believing they save wieght, so why did Ford go back to steel if they are so great...i'll wait.

the steel lca's from previous and the current model are cheaper to make. casting undeniably takes more steps.
i didnt say they save on weight exactly. i said they reduce unsprung weight or mass. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unsprung_mass
