Depressing!!!
actually I came here because I did a google search for "custom console enclosure 04 f150" and "04 f150 leveling kit" and f150forum popped up like 8 hits in a row. Looking around I didn't even notice the "issue" threads until I actually thought I was having one and I find them far more positive in addressing preventative maintenance to avoid those "horror stories".
OP,
If it makes you feel better, my truck hasn't had a single issue in the past 60K miles, just went over 100K. The only problem the truck ever had was easy to fix...the 4x4 solenoid/IWEs.

Challenge accepted! Here's what's gone wrong since I bought mine 2 years ago. I've replaced the 3rd brake light because it was hit by something and cracked. My air filter was dirty. Once. I have to put air in my tires every 6 months. My mechanic accused me of power-washing my engine because it was too clean. I drive for 10 hours straight because my drivers seat is so @#%$! comfortable. The stupid truck thrives on 87 octane when every respectable luxury car needs 93. I can only seat 5 basketball players with legroom to spare when a Prius can seat.... Well, maybe that's not a good one. Last but not least, I can only fit one Prius in the truck bed.

Just turned over 6k on my 13 XLT SCrew with the 5.0. The only thing I can think of to complain about it is the payment and insurance. Lol. I've driven different trucks before, but this one has to be the nicest.....Plus it fits all the family including the dog. I don't wash and wax it, but I try to keep it as clean as possible with 3 kids in the back. Haha. Going to start doing some of the cheap mods until I can convince the wife that it NEEDS a procharger. LMAO.
I enjoy the sharing here not only on problem solving but also for the mods and improvements that are done.
Some of the mods just make a good truck better and more fun to drive and own.
Ford has been my favorite throughout the years. Not likely to change to another vehicle in this lifetime.
