Default Damn it. . . Mudflaps

Ok guy I got a fix itTicket for my tinted windows and not having mudflaps.

My question is are mud flaps required here in ca. If so what would be the cheapest way to add some to have the chp office check it off that I have them, I will take them off a soon as I get home.

And get a fine the next time you're caught without them

I don't know that mud flaps are required, but I do know that they are when the tires exceed the width of the body panels by more than a few inches. In that case you need flares and flaps. You can fasten something out of rubber and self tapping sheet metal screws if you really want to half *** it. Or just buy a decent set of flaps and live it.

California must really suck sometimes.

I can see the window tint being questioned, but the flaps needed?

Maybe these will help a little;

i picked up a set for front and rear from Oriley auto parts for like $40 total. they are the "one size fits all" kind but i think they mount up really nice. plus they keep alot of the side of the pickup and my westin steps.

especially nice with road construction season getting here with them putting down new asphalt and tar. i have noticed a considerable difference just in the first month of that here. another nice thing about these is that they look like that hard plastic molded ones but are still made of rubber so if you go off road and catch one they dont just snap off. they bend and crunch down very nicely

A lot of states require mudflaps especially with lifted trucks or trucks with off road tires. If you got stopped for it once, chances are you'll get stopped again. Like Bluescrew said; you're better off buying a set of flaps and dealing with it.

As annoying as it is, I'm sure most of us have had a rock fly up and crack our windshields from a big truck/semi and remember wishing they had mudflaps...

Fenders and mud flaps are both required in California.
My truck never came with mud flaps when I bought it.

yea i know the tint is a no brainer, but really he pulled me on my way to class, and he just wrote a fix it ticket that will mailed, and all i need to do is go to a CHP office and get it signed off and send it back,

he only cited me for not having mud flaps and tinted windows

my question is what is the cheapest route to get the mud flaps on, i want something that you dont have to drill

the flaps i bought used exiting holes in the fender. or you could use some clip looking things that came with them too...i just put one extra hole in mine with a self tapping screw bolt headed screw.

or if you want to go really cheap just get some really really cheap flaps and hold them on with a couple of black binder clips from your local office store like these....

all you will have to do is put them on. and pop off the silver handles and the cop that checks you off will most likely not see them. unless he gets way down underneath and looks.
