Cowling below windshield
I fix these on a daily basis and never have issue with them after the repair. If you're handy with a drill, you can easily fix this for about 50 cents.
Hopefully, i'll be able to explain well enough for you guys to understand, so stay with me...it's sometimes hard to explain correctly when you're typing on the internet.
First thing, run to any autoparts store, or even the dealer. Buy a retainer in the push-pin style or screw in style. You can get an idea of what type of screw style I use if you look at the plastic cover that covers the support over the radiator.
Where the two plastic pieces for the wiper cowl meet is where you'll want to drill. You can remove the weatherstrip for easier access to drill. Under the weatherstrip, the plastic kinda resembles "stairs". You'll drill into the first "step" of the stairs. There are only two "steps". I can't for the life of me remember what size drill bit I use for this, but after you get your retainer, you should be able to eyeball it ok.
Drill the hole, insert the retainer and you'll never have to worry about it again.
Let me know if I explained it ok or not. I can take pictures of what i'm talking about next week if you guys need it.
Good luck!
Jamie

Hehe, I know exactly what you guys are talking about, I used to work in a windshield shop. We always had trouble with the ford so we just put a little urethane on the clips and basically glued them down
The next person who needs to remove that cowling is sure gonna have fun!
