Default Cowling below windshield

If you've ever taken a look at your cowling, have you had trouble with where the pieces connect in the middle? Mine looks as if it is supposed to snap together quite simply. I've taken it apart, moved, squeezed, forced, tried everything except glue and it still comes apart and pops up. Annoying.....

Has anyone else had these troubles, or am I the lone victim on this one?

Yup, same thing here. Bang down on it and it stays latched for awhile, but then releases again. Will have the dealer look at it at the first oil change. I think this very common with fellow members.

Same problem here. I just gave up on it and now one side is raised higher than the other.

Our dealer ordered a lot of them (Left and Right) there is an issue with the tabs being broken from the factory.

I had mine replaced within 2 weeks of buying my truck. They were on backorder from all of the dealer repairs on them.

Same here. Mine passenger side got broke in a car wash but never noticed it until way later. The windshield 'spray' nozzle just flops around. I have not ordered on until I find out how to R & R the piece.

Any help out there?

Good morning folks,

my right cowling was broken when I took possession of my truck.

Ford replaced it for free, of course. But still... makes me wonder what I have to look forward to.

They didn't say "how" it got broke.

Mine also... But it is only about a 1/4" raised... Are you guys's higher? I would hate to have the dealer replace mine for such a small defect...

During my oil change today....I messed with it some more. I've resorted to just banging down on it and forgetting about it. It doesn't seem how much I flex it and force it, it doesn't snap together well. I think when I'm more motivated, I may pull the entire thing off and trim around on it to get it to fit better.....maybe even stay snapped together. Guess I could make a trip to the dealer, but they'd probably keep it for a blasted week......
