Default Coke Can Bumpers

I slightly bumped into a snow bank and my lower front bumper became pushed in. The license plate bracket provided enough resistance against the snow, the bumper just bent inward.
The metal on these front bumpers is so thin, I am shocked and so angry.
Just a little warning to everyone out there .

With the challange of squeezing out the best mile per gallon rating, Ford and other truck manufacturers have to reduce weight. The bumpers are just one of the many items that get this weight reduction. If they put on a bumper that trucks of yester year had, our mileage would be worse, and you and I would be paying a "gas gussler" tax when we bought them.

As others have said, buy an aftermarket one if you think the possibility of another snow bank jumps in front of you.

The good news? Every truck out there is in the same situation as you, unless its owner replaced the bumper with an aftermarket one.
