Question Cluster question

so u guys know how at night when the lights turn on and on the cluster the back lights are green, does anyone know if that's a green plastic behind it or is it the small bulbs behind it that's green cauz i wanna change it to blue

the applique has a green tint on it...so unless you take apart the cluster and scrape/acetone off the green, it will be a lost cause and leds in the newer trucks look bad, too many hot spots

you get too much light and some of the number looks super bright, don't get good coverage...some super bright, some hardly visible...to do it right, you would need o get a cheeseboard and soldier up leds and resistors near every spot...you can try it, but the mileage area will still be green

I agree with ATOM, but if you're hell bent, do a search. Awhile back, another member on this site did it, and found that certain color LED bulbs will "penetrate" through the green film and create a color (shade of blue if I remember) that was decent, at least to him and a few others. His post has pictures and a description on how to do it (you'll need to remove the cluster), as well as where you can purchase them.

If it were me, and the color bothered me that much (it doesn't), I'd lust wear some 3-D glasses; the ones that have one eye in green, and one eye in blue, then stare at the guages when nessesary.

well i have never did it, but i heard guys got 20 hrs into the gauge assembly...
