2004 4x4 supercrew-

I’ve got a metallic click when I’m backing up and turning in the left front. Thought I might have a bad wheel bearing but it’s got no play in it when doing the “shake test” with that corner elevated.

Ideas?

Just because there isnt any play in the wheel bearing doesnt mean it isnt going bad. I had something similar happen to me when backing up and it turned out to be the wheel bearings. Mine didnt have any play either when I lifted the truck up.

Didn't you recently work on the front end?
Silly question, but the actuators/hubs/cv were set back in properly, greased and free of contaminants correct?
And I agree with red. They won't always wobble

Yes- struts, springs, ball joints, control arms.

Ummm... I put them back in. Lol. I was hearing this starting to develop (not as bad) before pulling it apart.

Good to know. I will probably replace the hub when I replace the (new) ball joint that’s already making noise.
