Far as vehicle tuners, there really isn't a "cheap" tuner. Any decent tuner is gonna run you $300 new on up.

Edge, Gryphon, SCT, Diablosport, Bully Dog, just to name a few I can think of. Most people run the Edge/Gryphon or the SCT. Not sure about prices but Edge will be 300-350 and Gryphon is 400. Custom tunes will run you 30 for the Gryphon and 60 for the Edge (if done through Power Hungry Performance). I know the SCT is the more expensive one but I hear Franchi will get you the best deal on one.

Heard that right! :-)
But yes, the above brands are pretty much your options for a tuner. The $69 ebay tuners which claim 59 horses and 20 mpg are just a .05 Radio Shack resistor chip in a pretty plastic box and worthless.
