Default center console shift light

Sorry guys, i did search for this but all i could find was how to replace the bulb.

My question is, my light is very dim in the center console shifter. Is there a known issue with this? If not is there a brighter replacement bulb for it?
My truck is a 2004, thanks guys.

It is possible the the bulb has come loose and has come away from the socket.

The bulb socket in this location is of poor quality. I would check that.

Some have gone to replace the bulb only to find the bulb works, but had worked its way out of the socket.

Then I would change the bulb. If it is still dim there must be an issue.

Is there any after market equipment tied into the console. ???

Changed the bulb, i used just a regular one and its all good now, something must have been wrong with the old one.
