Default CB Install

Doesn't appear many people here are on the CB but I figured I'd post anyway.
I would have never guessed it would be easier to install a CB in a Volvo than a F-150 but it is, lol!
Here's where it sits

Convenient rubber plug that I passed the wires through and ran them through the wiper cowling. Got the positive on the battery and the neg on a ground on the firewall.

My antenna is going to be mounted in the right side front stake hole. Here is the coax coming down from there and going into a rubber plug at the back of the cab.

Ran the coax along side the wire harness inside the door sill and next to the fuses.

And finally up to the dash

This is the Uniden 78 I had. I now have the 68 but looks pretty much the same.

My antenna and mount should be here tomorrow and it will be all done.

Thanks. Not going to run an external speaker, it's plenty loud as is. I wanted to mount the radio down by the cig lighter area but the transfer case shifter was in the way plus I'd lose the two cup holders. Anyway, got it all buttoned up today and works great.

Hey that setup looks badass, where did you get the mount for the antenna? I didnt think a CB up there would actually look like a clean setup but it does, very impressed. Might even do the same to mine.

Thanks. This is where I got the mount. They have lots of different mounting solutions.

you seem to know a good bit about cb's. much unlike myself who is a bit of a noob lol.. i dont NEED a Cb, but i want one for fun and convenience. my question is-how hard is it to tune a CB antenna? and is it relatively cost-effective?

"South bound watch the gator in the right lane and you have a brown wrapper shooting your side".

Let's see some of you good old boys unscramble that...lol. I had my antenna mounted in the pocket but after I wanted to put a tool box I went with a wilson 5000.

separated tire tread in the right lane of the southbound lanes....and an unmarked running radar...

FYI, i've never owned a CB...so i'm just guessing
