Check your grounding you will need to have two straps for the bed and two straps for the cab! Grounding is everything when it comes to CB or amateur radio (Ham Radio) and fiberglass antennas are not the best choice! stainless steel is a good bet either a whip or a base loaded or a center loaded will work the best for you.most trucks the bed and cab are mounted on rubber although they are bolted down it will not provide the grounding you need for the radio and antenna combo to work at their best for you!
