Now I know it's been posted again and again but I have a 2006 with 98k and It has the cam phaser tick between idle and 900rpm just get louder. no Chain slap on start up just the tick is something should i be worried about or is just a little tick? If you listen close you can hear it over the injectors. Only when it is fully warmed up can you hear it http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/...psb735da9c.mp4 <a href="http://s1276.photobucket.com/albums/y480/Evan_Clauss/?action=view&current=BAE8CD94-28AC-47AD-B386-3E73657E1429-1950-000001FA4B2BF029_zpsb735da9c.mp4" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y480/Evan_Clauss/BAE8CD94-28AC-47AD-B386-3E73657E1429-1950-000001FA4B2BF029_zpsb735da9c.mp4" border="0" alt="Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos" /></a>

I'm no mechanic...just a guy with an 04 and a few friends who are mechanics. I was resdy to change it all and once we got the valve covers off we saw everything was in good shape so we changed the VCTs only. So far happy with that and all is well. Slight tic but most of the noise is the injectors.

It pretty easy you'll need a t27 driver that's long and thin like 8 inches or so. The hardest one is the drivers side because the power steering fill is in the way. Here's a link that I used when I changed mine. Unfortunately after changing mine the ticking is still there. http://www.fordtruckclub.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=4066

You're best bet is to get new seals. That way you can just rip out the old ones, instead of being gentle and taking twice as long. A once piece torx is a must.
