Default A/C Help -- What is wrong?

My 05 F150 A/C shows it is fully charge on my gauge.
The problem is it will blow ice cold for a few minutes then it will blow outside temp air. Then it will blow ice cold air again. It does this in no appearant pattern. Just off and on and the time between isn't the same.
Sometimes it won't even blow cold when i turn it on.
What's the problem?

The a/c clutch is not staying engaged possibly a faulty pressure switch. You can jump the a/c clutch with a power wire but be careful as there is no cut out like that but it will at least diagnose if the clutch is bad.

The pressure gauge did show it in the red but wasn't on the high end of red. Would that being overcharged a little cause the high pressure switch to shut it off?

Let out some of the freon back to normal pressure. No cold air at all. Ran it for 30 min drive.

possibly a defective pressure switch, or the system may not be circulating like it should through the evaporator and condenser, look for cold spots where frost has built up on the metal lines that would be a dead giveaway to the system not circulating, otherwise use a 12 volt jumper wire and hook up your pressure gauges, activate and deactivate the clutch manually see if you get cold air then.

Okay. I will try that. I can hear a click every 8-10 seconds when the a/c is on so it makes me think the compressor is clicking on and off.

The pressure I checked was the low side. I don't have a high side gauge. Do I need to check the high side?

did you check the pressure with the air on max ac turned up all the way it can go?

also, the location you should be using the check the pressure is the line that is located just next to the washer fluid fill cap. Its a light colored line with a black cap on it.

I checked it on the low port(closest to the firewall) off its at 45. When it is on MaxA/C the pressure goes up to 45 clicks- then back down to 20 clicks back up to 45.
I don't have a hose/gauge to connect to the port on the high side. Do they sell the gauge that connects to the high side at autozone etc? I have seen the a/c manifold gauge set but they range from $65-$200+

I did see that the bottom line coming from the condenser where the fitting pictured is going back where its wrapped was very cold and wet.
