Default A/C Controls Blinking

2005 SuperCrew Lariat -
Hello all, I am a new member as of today and having an issue with my AC controls. When leaving for work this morning, my A/C stopped and the control area starterd blinking. Similar to the alert you get when a tail light or blinker is out. The display went blank and the controls only blink when the lights are on. 37,500 miles, 1st problem with the truck... knock on wood.

Any suggestions?

hello and welcome!
This kinda reminds me of when i had my very first truck, a 92 chevy, (i know, ive gotten alot of hell because of my switch) but when my compressor went out in that truck, the a/c controls did the same thing, it shut off and started blinking. not exactly sure if this is helpful, but i thought id reply and lend a hand. might want to check the fuses. do u have the digital controls?

interesting. ive never heard of this problem before. im not really excelled in the electrical parts of the truck, i mainly stick to modding and engine upgrading. sorry i couldnt be more helpful, the only things i can think of is to check the fuse, or have the truck on and flip the a/c control to ON and see if the engine changes idle, if at all now

If it were a fuse would I still get blinking lights?

Sounds like it's flashing a fault code.

I am 1,500 miles over the warranty and I am trying to avoid taking this to the dealership... sysman, can you be a little more specific? How would I fix this problem?

Awesome, thanks man! On another note, I had a friend check it out yesterday afternoon and all fuses in the cab in and under the hood were fine. He said he thought it could possibly be the actual climate control module itself. You can actually see a bit of light glimmering through the display. I also found a post on google.groups with the exact same problem and it took Ford 2 weeks to get the part in. I am scheduled to drop it off this afternoon at the local dealer, but I would be very interested in what you find in your documentation.. Thanks again sysman_rick!

This entire piece is what my buddy claimed was bad... the display is completely black except for one dot, or pixel, and the buttons blink when I turn the lights on
