Default bumper exchange

I have an 08 XLT with a chrome bumper with no fog lights. Has anyone exchanged their bumper for a bumper that has the square fog lights like the 05's? I was wondering if it's simple swap, if I need to wire it myself or if the wring is already there.

Ok, this is crazy. I was just researching the same thing and about to make a new thread when I saw this one.

Same with me, have an 08 XLT and want to swap the bumper with the square fog light version.

I found most of the parts on ebay:
chrome bumper = $170
square fog lights = $45 each
Switch(pull for fog on) = ~$65
wiring harness = $66
Total = ~$400 in parts.

Figuring out if the bumper will fit and how to get everything hooked up is another issue.

I changed out my stock non fog bumper for a bumper with fogs. I put an 08 bumper on an 08 truck, so I didnt encounter any problems mounting it. Got the factory bumper, factory fog brackets and lights from ebay. I ended up buying a seperate KC wire harness from summit racing.Did it all by myself in a few hrs.
I got most of my money back selling my non fog bumper on craigslist.
If you cant find the foglight brackets and fog lenses, you can go to LMCtruck.com
Good Luck.

Look how lucky I got:

chrome 2008 fog bumper: 140 shipped
2007 Fog Brackets/Fog lenses: 75 shipped
wire harness: 65 shipped
total= $280.00
minus the stock bumper -110.00
I paid 170 total for my swap.

i dont think a 04-05 bumper with square fogs, will just bolt up to a 06-08 bumper, im almost 100% positive that they changed the bumper mounts when they changed the fog lights, the round light bumper could easily be swapped but it will take some fabrication to get the square ones

i believe the bumper mounts will be different. The 04-05 have one and the 06-08 have another. I've heard it being done put you have to alter the mounts some.

The mounts are different, they changed from the 05 to 06 version.
