If the battery dies, you still have the passenger side door to open with the key. No worries there.

As well as another location for the crook to bust open the lock via a screwdriver....

Or bash another window.

My suggestion... forget the jimmyjammer, get that responder alarm, and keep that Glock on your hip and not under the seat. Remember to shout something like "Stop! Drop the weapon!" before firing. That screwdriver is a deadly weapon.
I lost my '97 F150 and $3000 in tools last year to one of these idiots.

No matter what you do If someone wants something bad enough they will get in and take it.They busted the driver side front window out of my 2005 Screw at 11 AM on a nice day in the parking lot of a busy Gym on a busy main road and no one seen anything except fore my wife that came out to find the window under the truck because of the tint holding together and her purse missing.Where there is a will there is a way...I say that is what insurance is for.I just hope if the steal the whole truck it never reappears.GAP is great...

Not much said about your G19. Get a car safe or keep it on you. The last thing you need is to have johnny gangbanger walking around with a G19 traced back to you. Especially if you didn't report it to police.

I continue to be amazed at the responses to this thread. The original poster, "NoLimitSoldier" asked this simple question:

"The real problem is how they got in, I am now missing the driver side lock and the plastic around it is broken.

Anyone know an easy way to replace/fix this? My deductible is kinda high for this."

He was looking for a cheap, yet efficient way to prevent a thief from gaining entrance to his truck. We all know that the simple screwdriver trick in, or below the door handle is an easy and quiet way for a crook to gain entrance. While the "keyless door handle" was suggested, the crook can push the screwdriver below the handle assembly. The jimmyjamb prevents both of these entry methods, and still allows the owner to use their keys.

Nothing, absolutely nothing will keep a crook out of your beloved truck if they want it bad enough. You can only make it difficult for them to enter, in hopes they move on to an easier target (most will do just that).

Somehow, the suggestion of Guns in a truck came up, over that of a cheaper, safer alternative to something like the jimmyjammer". A gun: sure, good possibility, but it assumes you stand guard 24/7, and/or sleep in the truck and or plan to use it during an altercation such as a break in to your truck.

My life is more important than a truck. I refuse to play the game of guarding my truck to this extent. This is why I have insurance.

I'm not against guns (in the hands of a safe, educated owner), and I don't own stock or are affiliated with the company that makes jimmyjammers.

But to each his own. Just be careful of an easily obtainable handgun under or behind a seat.

Add it all...
door handle with no key hole
Jimmy jamers
motion sensor on the alarm
**way to open hood from outside that only YOU know about so if the battery goes dead you can pop the hood and get a jump!**
