Besides, even after you install a door handle assembly without a lock cylinder, the crook can easily insert a flat blade screwdriver below the plastic door handle assembly and pry open the door by pressing against the inner rod. To see this in action, gor to the jimmyjammer site. Link is in an above post.

So, what happens if your battery goes dead, and you cannot open the door(s) via the remote keyless entry???

The jimmyjammer is the best overall for this. It's a plate that installs behind the lock cylinder (yes you remove the door panel and door handle assembly to install). This way if the crook attemps to jamb the screwdriver into the door lock cylinder to open the door, the jimmyjammer prevents the screwdriver (or other type pick) from getting to the unlock rod.

I'd hate for you from getting into the truck by using a key cylinderless door handle assembly should you loose the battery......

It looks like they broke all of the clips holding the dash plastic on, but at least no cut wires... Police Report? It does look like they damaged your truck also below the lock.

So should you really put them in every door handle you have? Or only the drivers?

well if you do get your locked replaced, theres a way they can fill in the the key hole to where its flush with the plastic and you could never tell there was a key hole was even there.
unfortunatly ford trucks are the most stolen and broken into truck in the country, mainly becuse they are sooooooo easy to pop that damn little key hole, any one with a screw driver can do in.
i speak from expirience from my f150, my dads f250, 2 friends with f150s, and 2 other ppl i know with an f250 and f350. all had that key hole poped and the truck cleaned out.

its a bad feeling and a nightmare i feel you.

Sorry to hear about your luck. I don't mean to hijack your thread, but my 05' was also broken into 2 days ago. They crawled into my canopy and forced the rear power slider open. I was curious if anyone might know how hard it is to replace the motor that operates the window, the cost of said motor, etc?
