SCT X4 with custom tunes. Around $450 from MPT or from 5 Star. Canned tunes suck, and aren't going to account for your mods. Trust me, go custom you won't regret it. Especially with the CAI.

Edge EVO is for stock vehicles. You can use an edge EVO upgraded to a gryphon with a custom tune though...................

Custom tunes are dramatically better than canned tunes that come on the programmer. My MPT tunes are by far the best bang for the buck I have spent on my truck

Canned tunes are the ones that come stock on a programmer. People often run into issues with these tunes as they're pretty generic. If you want to see REAL performance gains go custom. They take into account things like your CAI, and have dyno tests done for history with their tunes. MPT tunes are AWESOME, I ran them on my 07 with the 5.4. Dramatic difference over stock. Truck got is wakeup call and would finally get in a hurry. Virtually no throttle lag anymore either. Performance 87+ street shift from MPT, that's literally the only one you need. I had one for 91+ octane and never used it. Nor did I use my towing tune.

I like my canned tunes. I do however adjust the canned tunes on my Gryphon.

I used canned for a couple days while I was waiting on my custom. They did alright, but I wasn't happy with the shift points and firmness of the canned (at least with SCT), it felt like it was shifting at bad times, and very hard. Seemed like a transmission job waiting to happen.

This is also my personal opinion. Obviously the vast majority of people aren't running custom tunes and have no issues with canned. If you like the stock tunes (and/or modified on the programmer) that's totally fine. Personally, I was advised to go custom or nothing so that's why I'm biased. Lol

I installed the Bully Dog GT Platinum on my 05 about 2 weeks ago. Dont see a huge difference on the Regular 87 Tune in terms of power but I did gain around 1.5 MPG. The Premium tune however does perform much better than the stock. Better power and throttle response. Transmission shifts much better as well. As tareed94 stated, custom tunes for your modifications seems to be the way to go. I am about to purchase a custom tune for Regular 87 octane fuel as I do not want to have to buy premium gas just to get the truck to perform better. I also plan to purchase a towing tune as well. I've had my truck for 12 years and have had a CAI and exhaust system on it for years and was not impressed by the difference these mods alone gave. The tuner did really make the biggest difference of all and from what I understand, the combination of the three mods compliment each other.
