I just had to do some timing components.. however how in the hell do i put back on the harmonic balancer?

also is the bolt tty?

Yes, the bolt is TTY and must be replaced. You can get one from ARP that can be reused. You can use the old bolt to put the balancer back on. How did you get the balancer off? The pullers for these balancers should also be able to reinstall them. Don't forget to put some RTV on the key before you install the balancer.

the kit i bought was just a cheap removal kit from AAP. Ok ill look into that.. damn was hoping to get it running this weekend but if i have to order the bolt itll take longer.

how far back does the pulley go before its fully seated????

It will bottom out against the timing trigger wheel which is in front of the cam chain gears.

how will i know when it does that? they installer tool broke so have to take it back and get another

As long as you get it on and the pulley is fairly close to the timing cover, you can use the retainer bolt to snug it up the rest of the way.

ill just pick up the rental tool again, im going that way any way, and i feel like the lil headed on this bolt would just rip off..

i think i either have it or at least really CLOSE... before the tool broke.. its a rat hair away from the case but the key isnt flush yet with the pulley

OK went and got next rental. I went till it would no longer turn. Now how in the hell do you keep it still while trying to torque to spec (66 ft lb)

Is this with the engine in the truck? Make sure the spark plugs are installed; the compression will help hold the engine. You can open the inspection port for the torque convertor and try to get leverage on the starter ring teeth to keep it from turning. Otherwise you might have to get a strap wrench to hold the balance.
