Default Automatic headlight problems

Hi

I have automatic headlights and they always on, as soon as i turn on the truck they turn ON, no matter day or night, i live in the Caribbean so i have a LOT of sun light in the day.

How can i check what's the problem, i don't care keeping then off and turn then on manually when is dark, but i like that they stay on for a minute when i turn off the truck, and i don't like to lose this.

Now that i install the HID's this is a concern.

Do you have something sitting on top of the sensor on the dash by the windshield?

I thought the sensor was on the rearview mirror. If it is, then maybe its damaged or slightly covered.

It's on the dash.

It could be the light sensor is bad.
