Default Auto head light adjustable?

Does anyone know if the auto headlight sensitivity is adjustable? I would prefer they come on a bit earlier, especially in rainy conditions. I have never seen anyone talk about this and was wondering if it is an issue for them too. Just yesterday I was driving in the rain and I thought they should have been on...

If there is no setting, is it possible with some tape to darken the sensor to make it think it is darker than it really is? Not even sure where the senor is located, on the dash?

I don't think this can be done; at least I have not seen this discussed before. You might get lucky in using some different shades of tint to fool the sensor, but I doubt this will really work.

Try calling your local Ford dealership and talk to a service advisor. Better yet, drive over and talk to them in person; your likely to get a talk with a technition who may know of a way.

Good luck, and let us know if you find anything.

Let me know what you find. I hate the way i cant trust my lights to come on when i need them. In rain and very overcast days i have to turn them on my self but would rather if they were more sensitive to these conditions.

Just throw a baseball cap over the DASH sensor on overcast days, then remove the cap on days that you don't want the lights on.

OK, so I am not the only one that would like to be able to adjust the sensitivity of the switch.

So is the tinted dome on the driver’s side on top of the dash, the one with a blinking red led is the actual light sensor?

I've searched and was unable to come up with anything. Is there no way to adjust the sensor for your automatic headlamps? Mine definitely need to come on a little earlier than they do.
