Default Grinding noise in the Auto Climate Control

Okay I have searched this forum up and down and am unable to locate this problem. When I turn my Auto climate control on or off, or switch between the heater or A/C I getting a growling or moning noise from my dash. It sounds like something needs to be oiled or lubed. It is driving my nuts. I did find a little somthing about the actuator rod?? It sounds like it could be related. Everything seems to work fine its just bother some. Any one else have this problem?

Remove the trim ring that surrounds the radio/AC controls. You just pull straight back at the bottom (or top) corners, and work your way up (or down) the trim's sides. Then disconnect the "passenger seat airbag" warning light.

Now operate the controls and see if you can pinpoint the noise, as you'll be able to peek into the dash area. Hope this helps narrow down the location of the moan.

Thanks I will give that a try and report my findings or lack there of. The noise is hard to explain. Maybe I will record it and post it here. It's almost like I have a little creature living in my dash who changes the crontols when I push the botton. Maybe Ford put some prototype creature in my dash in an attemp to save a few bucks on the electrical system.

I have the same problem when I change the temp or turn it off. It makes an odd sound. The auto a/c is the one complaint I have about my truck. It is just not consistent with the temperature. The sounds, i do not get them too often so I can deal.

Haha, mine does it too, I'm just too lazy to tear apart the dash to do the service procedure.
