This is how it is exactly on the lariat donor truck i pulled all the parts from.
Yeah they have a bunch of new model f-150s but they only had that one lariat truck which i pulled everything from black leather seats to center console and complete dashboard with wiring harness. I paid $150 for the dash... i couldn't pass up that deal.
anyways so like i said hopefully when i have time to look at the truck that slot were that tbar tube connects to the black air box is already cut all i hope i have to do is pop it out and pop in the tbar and connect the tube.
I don't know where the connector from the tube connects to though does that connect to the lariat cluster or????
Will this fix our a/c issue? or is the interior temperature "good to have" does it even matter? all i want is a/c haha cuz already drilled the hole in the air box for the speed control controller....
the tube hooks to a square temp sensor that mounts underneath the trip/odo buttons on the lariat cluster. there are slits in the dash to allow air flow. This will not solve your ac issue. The ac clutch issue has to to with the ubp on the microprocessor. Check out this link http://www.f150online.com/forums/200...e-control.html

You can see there that they are talking about the UBP

In my set up since I am using an xlt I will have to move the VT wire on the back of the EATC from the black harness to the white one. And at the cluster I will have to move the vt wire from pin 2 to pin 29. They dont say in the thread if this action was successful but hopefully it will work.

For you since you switched the harness... perhaps you need to have the processor reprogrammed at ford? It costs about 70 bucks according to my local dealer. All you need is the vin code from a lariat which you can easily pilfer off an eBay auction.

Fixed the a/c issue...
I went back to the junk yard and bought the lariat cluster since I wanted to finally get that last piece but i put it on to see if that even mattered and it did! I also read the links you posted and the cluster send the a/c demand signal.

Now all i need is to update the mileage but the dealership said they cannot do this... they said they cannot do the "as built" even if i supplied a lariat vin because my cluster is from an xlt they will only take xlt to xlt and lariat to lariat..... ffs.

The lariat clusters use buttons that are on the dash. Will you be swapping in a lariat speedo surround?

Good find with the cluster. Might have been what held up the other guys, who tried this swap.

The lariat speedo surround came with the dashboard so yes i swapped it out.
Also i do have the buttons for the lariat cluster everything works, engine temp, oil pressure etc etc...

So heres a quick write up of what i did so in any case people look at this post because i believe i'm one of the very few to do a complete swap of manual to digital a/c controls....

Found a lariat at the junk yard purchased the dashboard that included the wiring harness for all of the dashboard components. Purchased the EATC controls from the same truck and removed my old dash WITH its wiring harness from my XLT.
I noticed that all the connectors were all the same minus the one that replaces the resistor from the XLT harness. Concluded that i will need to go back and purchase the "speed control module" and turns out that it would not fit the same slot as the resistor. I cut a square hole small enough for the "speed control module" to fit in and screwed it down. Now with that module i was at a point where all the different modes worked defrost, center vents, bottoms vents etc etc.. MINUS the A/C. Purchased the lariat cluster and then read your post and in this http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13551449732144 link it states the cluster has the a/c demand signal cable so i put on the lariat cluster just to see if it would work and it did. I now have A/C all modes and heater all modes.

Parts i used ->
Lariat Dashboard - $150
Lariat Dashboard harness -Came with dashboard
Lariat cluster - $100
Lariat digital controls -$50
Lariat "speed controller module" (replaces the resistor) - $50 w/ free horn

Included the prices of what my junk yard charged me. How much this swap will be depends on how greedy your junk yard is.

Hey I was wondering if you were ever able to get you odometer reset to your actual miles? I was just at my junkyard the other day and they had all the parts I would need to complete this and are usually very reasonable on parts. Also thanks for all of your writeup on this

Default Conversion from Manual Climate Control To Automatic?

Hi, I have a 2008 XLT f150 and want to know if I can just swap my manual climate control to automatic. I don't care for the automatic feature, I care because of the wood grain dash I want and the look of the eatc controls. But would it work at least to control the a/c manually?

There is so much mess you need to swap to get EATC to work that you may as well get a factory built truck with it already in place.

EATC requires inputs that an XLT won’t be able to provide.

Bill,
why not just get a kit with the wood look if thats what you're after.... I have no experience with these, but it looks like theres lots of places that sell the same manufacturers kits

If someone has a pdf for a 2004-2008 F150 showing the wiring for the electronic air or the manual air?
so how I did it on my 2006 F150 FX4 I plugged in the main wire for the climate controls the light up and everything in the climate Controls will work it’s just your fan speed that is different so I took out the old fan speed switch off the manual one and routed it right next to cigarette lighter at the bottom so every time you need to turn up the fan speed you just turn the switch instead of going up there and clicking the buttons all your other climate controls on the auto would work perfectly fine it’s all plug and play no tap nothing
