Default Any alternators to avoid?

Got an 07 FX2 in need of an alt. I just helped a friend put an oreilly alternator on their minivan, replacing one only a couple months old because the plug harness crumbled, so I'm not keen on using theirs. Any opinions on:
AC Delco
Remy
Bosch
TCY
New vs Reman?
any other brands you can think of, i'm looking more for what to avoid as opposed to what to get.

I'm on my second warranty replaced remy alternator in six months so I wouldn't recommend them unless you particularly like replacing alternators

I will have mine rebuilt by a local shop that specializes in them. Or buy a brand new Motorcraft. No other option for me.

IIRC there was a member on here a few months back that was looking for a new Motorcraft alternator and couldn't find one. I believe he said they don't make them new anymore, they're all remans now.

Re-man Motorcraft... we have a very picky truck when it comes to the voltage regulator.
second choice would be Bosch.

Seems like I got lucky. I replaced mine with a Carquest reman about three years ago. That was before I knew that these trucks only like Motorcraft. But I haven't had any problems with it.

Can you buy a 'new' Motorcraft for our truck, or all they all re-mans?

Rockauto lists a 110A new. I haven't seen any other vendor sell new MC though. Either new or rebuilt MC should be fine... They both come with new VR's and that's typically the main problem with alternators on this gen.
