Another tire post!
I've got an '07 Screw that came with 255/70/17's, which are on their last legs. Most of my miles are highway, sometimes I pull a boat, and sometimes a camper. But...I live in Michigan, so a certain amount of snow/slush traction would be desirable, also.
My veteran tire guy suggests Bridgestone Dueler A/T, or Firestone Destination L/E. (You can probably guess who his main supplier is!) I think I'm going to a 265/70/17, which should put me 1/2" inch taller and 1/2" wider than my existing tires. This should only mildly affect my speedometer and odometer.
I know a lot of guys swear by Michelin, or BFG, or whatever...but my guy believes their higher price is not worth it. He can put the Dueler's on for $680, and the Destination L/E's for $590.
Any thought on these tires, or other comparably-priced alternatives matching my usage, is greatly appreciated.

Ive got Destination AT's on my truck and I really like them. Usually the LE's are what they put on SUV's.
Most of my driving is highway and the tires ride great. Theyre also great in the snow. Ive never been seriously offroading with my truck but Ive hauled my atv down a rough dirt road before.

i just put the dueler a/t's on my truck about 2 weeks ago. personally i'm don't like firestone's destination tires, just the design and to be honest the "font" they wrote firestone in for white letters is a little weird. while i don't tow but a couple times a year and don't do ANY off roading in this truck (that's what one of the old farm trucks is for), i think these tires are great!
I have put about 900 miles on them already, which included a run to the KC airport (about 300 miles round trip) and they are quiet, ride waaaaay better than the bfg rugged trails that came on the truck. i have 18's so the price wasn't near as good as yours though. For what it's worth, I am a Dueler A/T fan.

I've ran Dueler Revo's with good results in the snow on my old Ranger. My next set will probably be Destination A/T's, my buddy just put a set on his Chevy and swears by them. I'm going to wait until we get more snow to see how they are.
Im on my second set of revo's and I love them. Great in snow, rain or even mild offroad adventures. Havent been in any deep muck, and dont plan on it. 285/70/17 are a nice looking tire btw.

I just fitted Goodyear Duratracs in 265/70/17's on my truck this week, they look great and seem to have good wet weather traction. I was down to a choice between bfg's and the Duratracs, i have had the bfg's before but i loved the look of the Duratracs and from speaking to other buyers the Duratracs seemed like a good deal.
