I am trying to find you the answer. It has something to do with how the fogs/headlights are linked and the high beam. The fogs/high beam at the same time mod is one step, but I am digging for the other half. Bare with me.

Whew....read that post and never found a decimal point anywhere; I almost fell out of my chair reading it!

Sounds like a power drain loss on the "cheap" ballast units that came with your HID fog lamps setup. I too bought my HID kit from Ebay; paid about $90.00 for it. Came with the 8000 Blue low beam only lamps (bright enough where I do not need high beams!). My fogs and low beams work fine, and when I select the high beams, they too work.

I hope you come up with a fix to your kit, but I've got a feeling your problem lies with your cheap kit. You won't want to hear this, but you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately I have found nothing that fits with the high low not working other than the wires are plugged in incorrect.

Sorry

i dont really know where i am at now but i think you might be right the cheap kit might be to much of a drain on power so im thinking a relay might fix it up so ill try that because i had a lot of problems with the setup in the mustang because of relays but mostly because i needed digital ballasts ill let you guys know how its working out

I had the same problem on my 06 f150 fx4 and I did the bambi mod and it took care of the problem. Everything works fine now and the bright light indicator is not half lit and the fogs work with the low beams and highs.

Allows highs + fogs and eliminates that half lit high beam indicator light.
