I bought a used F150 that has an after market Alpine CDA9853 in the dash. The radio is the most annoying thing to deal with at night. The 4 blue buttons on the left of the radio are blinding they are so bright! I have to keep tape over them. I'm actually looking to replace the radio because of them. I'm looking for something that has red illumination. Any ideas? Has to be satellite ready and be of the same or better quality as the Alpine I have.
i would look around they make ones that have different colors of illumination my pioneer 7010bt has so many color choices i use stock green just so it matches. you can even make your own color.

That's interesting! Everything we had was illuminated in red. We even had red lens inserts for our flashlights. We're back in the 70's with that though.

Looks great guys and hats off to those who have the patience. I wish I could just figure out why sometimes my factory led's light up at night and sometimes they don't work. None of them work for my rear slider/moonroof. used to be able to touch the button and get them to work. IDK

Army switched from red to green in the mid 80's as it was easier on the eyes when solideres didnt take them off in time when their was bright light. The green is called green 38.Green also proved better ilumination. The new style nvg's thoe now come with diferent collor options that all you do is press a button and you get to choose between, red, green, orange, and yellow.Theirs even a heat signiture red that the army is playing around with that is being tested in trashacanistan.

For all my lights thoe,i'm going green

Interesting! I see they have no blue lights... I still don't get the blue light thing... Ment to ask, your tailgate looks like it is stamped with the words. I can't really read what it says totally. Is there lights behind?
