Default ABS Light and Brakes

So here's my story and current situation...

The other day it was pouring down and I was driving on the highway heading home from July 4th stuff. As I was driving I notice the truck would pump like the abs brakes were kicking in even though I may or may not be pressing the brakes are the time, it just seemed to be happening at random. After a while the abs light came on and has been ever since, I have a code reader which spits out a c1234 code which point to the front right wheel speed sensor being intermittent or non-functional.

I have noticed the truck seems to feel a bit sluggish like the brakes are sticking however this could just be being paranoid with the abs light being on and no real sign of something being wrong.

I can clear the code anytime I want but the light will come back on after a few min. I have looked over the wiring and sensor and have cleaned it out but that doesn't seem to have any effect.

Anyone have any thoughts or things I can look for I'm kinda out of ideas and am hesitant to take it somewhere since they will likely tell me something I already know.

How much is the sensor to replace? If its not much then I'd try replacing it and seeing if that helps. Better yet can you switch the driver and passenger speed sensors? If it throws a code saying the opposite one is out then you've got a bad speed sensor

To replace the sensor looks like $115, I was gonna try switching the sensors asap and see if that does change the code. For the time being is there a possibility of making something worse by driving the truck a lot. I have a fairly lengthy commute, approx 1hr each way everyday and no other vehicle to drive?

If it ends up being an abs sensor. Pm me. I have a brand new one thats never been used. I replaced mine then a few months later replaced the hub and just used the one i already had installed.

Could be that your hub is going out and messing up your abs sensor, had that happen a few years ago. Brakes would all of a sudden get crunchy and abs light would kick on. Replaced the hub and I've been golden ever since, hubs come with a new abs sensor

Over the weekend I took each assembly apart in the front and cleaned out the sensors as well as apply some electrical connection gel and have had no problems since. My guess is that some rain water got into the sensor and some rust started to make bad connections.

So my advice for future problems would be to start cheap and clean the sensors for free.

Thanks everyone for the advice.
