Been there and done that, in my younger years.

Lucky you caught before the wheel came off and did body damage.
Been there done that and got the body damage to prove it

Mine stayed on and I don't know how. I was rounding a corner on a highway when I felt the extreme sway that made me stop. When I did, there were no lug nuts left and the wheel was just riding on the drum!

I managed to jack it up and steel one lug nut from the other three wheels to allow me to limp home with my tail between my legs.

After beating the rotor off to replace the studs I cleaned everything up and put the rotor back on. Now I'm getting a very slight squeak at take off so would that cause major issues or should I go ahead and replace the rotor ?

Hammering the rotor off should have been good enough reason to replace it...

Over torqued lug nuts can strip the knurled collar at the base of the stud, which will allow it to then turn while being tightened.

Luckily I just myself a torque wrench today and I'm going to replace the rotor tomorrow and work on the other side next week on my days off.

You know that's exactly where all three studs broke too, at the base. I'll be a son of a gun

Changed out the rotor and no more noise. I'll be tackling the passenger side rotor next week to replace with a new one.
