The other 10%... throttle response.

I still have my old one but I don't think it works anymore. It wouldn't update through the USB cable the last time I tried to use it (3 years ago) and I never tried to send it in for a reprogram because I sold the truck.

A.R.E Bed Cover
Kenwood Nav/DVD
Replaced all four door speakers with Memphis
JL Audio Stealth Box
JL Audio amp
Belltech Drop Struts (3")
DJM Flip Kit (5")
23" Saleen Wheels
Falken Tires
Lariat Fender Moulding
Saleen Instrument Cluster Face
Homelink Visor
Window Tint

I plan on adding steering wheel radio controls when I get back (already have the switches) and possibly a tuner (if I can decide which one is best). I'm also contemplating adding power folding mirrors if I can find a pair of mirrors. I'm also trying to add LED halos to my lights.

Good luck with your mods!
How do you like those Memphis speakers? Those became popular right around the time I quit installing stereos, so I've never had any experience with them. I've been looking at Infinity components for the front doors and full-range for the rears. Haven't decided on an amp yet.

Keep me posted on your build. I'm always looking for some new ideas.

Finally found the old CAI

The pliers are thrown in for size reference. That filter is 10" long, not including the neck. 4" schedule 10 stainless pipe. No restrictions there. The hose connected to the valve cover vent and to a nipple stuck in the filter.

if you can get some additional piping to extend that kit down into the TB you'll be golden, I would say max you would need 4" longer then an elbow piece and then secure it to the tb. after that just secure it tight in the engine compartment and you'll be golden

My buddy is the SoCal rep for Memphis Car Audio, and is in the process of setting me up with all new speakers for my 08 FX2 SCREW. So I can't give a good opinion yet, but he did hook me up with a Memphis sub in my Ranger and it sounded better than the Pioneer sub it replaced. I already had Pioneer component speakers in the Ranger when I met him, and I was happy with those so I never went through the hassle to replace 'em with his brand. Now that I am starting all over again, I should get a good point of reference. I hope to do all the doors in a few days to a week, and am still deciding on a sub enclosure that I like. Anybody have opinions on must have underseat sub setups for SCREW's?

Looks like a good intake setup, and definitely some top-notch custom work. Not a huge fan of warm air setups, but hey, at least you didn't shell out 300 bucks for the same thing, with a "insert performance parts company name here" sticker on it. Probably sounds wicked, too.

The MAF placement will be, without a doubt, your biggest hangup. Some kits move the sensor further away from the TB, and some try to keep it as close to the stock location as possible. Chances are, you'll need a tune to compensate for any changes you make to the MAF sensor location and/or tube diameter around the sensor. It's rather important that it reads correctly. For your setup, I would probably put the sensor in the last section of tubing before the 90° elbow that goes to the TB. The airflow should be decently straight through there.

I'm very happy with the Memphis speakers they put in, but I don't recall which series / number.

It is a little pricey, but... you will not be disappointed with a Stealth Box! It sounds like much more than one 10" sub. I was hesitant at first to get it, but would do it again and recommend it.

That's what I was thinking too. The MAF on the 4.6 was mounted to the stock filter housing and came out pretty easily. IIRC the stock filter mounted directly to it. I'll have to dig into the 5.4's setup this weekend when I have time and daylight, but hopefully it will be the same style/shape as what was on the 4.6. That one fit really nicely into the 3" coupler and I had it mounted about 4" upstream of the TB. Didn't notice any difference in driveability from changing MAF locations. But then again, I had the Edge connected to it at the same time.
