Default 2004 Ford lightning

I want to go catless wondering the best place to find a X pipe for cheap or is the 300 to 400$ ones the way to go? I was also thinking just buying pipe from Napa and welding them on? Would there be a sound different? Open too and suggestions?

Save the cats. It's illegal to trade in or sell the vehicles without them when that time comes.
You gain no real performance with them removed. You'll gain loudness, and some upset neighbors. Worth it?

It might be your forever truck, but if it gets totaled and the ins co or salvage co resell, they will come back with a vengeance. Worth the risk?? Be smart and legal.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't there a resonator you can remove?

Even though you have a 2004 Lightning its the same as the 99-03 platform so your question is in the wrong sections but to answer your question there are many options.

You may have better luck by searching for the actual name of the part your looking for. What you want is a set of Catless Midpipes. Id personally suggest a set of Hi Flow Midpipes for a few reasons. There legal(which I could give a rats *** about), you will have less resonation in the cab from the exhaust, and the biggest reason being that going catless requires a custom tune to turn off the CEL due to the cats not being on the exhaust anymore and if you don't already have a custom tune that's about $450.

There are many different manufacturers but out of them all Bassani is one of the most popular in the Lightning community, they sell many with different options. Aluminized or Stainless, Catless or Hi Flow Cats. Id suggest stainless because why would you want to remove stainless off the truck and replace it with a worse part.

Stainless Catless = Part# BE-54150L2
Stainless Hi Flow = Part# BE-54150L3
Aluminized Catless = Part# BE-BX54150L2
Aluminized Hi Flow = Part# BE-BX54150L-3
