You can order the chiped key on ebay for under $10 you can have it cut most any where that makes keys useualy free BUT if you only have 1 key it will have to be programed at the dealership. When I got my new truck one of the first things i did was order and program a third key so if I lose one I can still program a new one. That said I think $100 is a little steep if you supply the key but not bad if they supply it.

Like most I went to ebay and order two extra blank keys and Fob's. I can program the Fobs not problem. Finding a locksmith in my area with the software to program it is. So I wonder if the dealership will have a problem programming my ebay keys? Second question is how many extra keys can you have programmed at one time? Is three the max or can you have more then that?

The generic key is kinda ugly though, but now I've got two keys and can buy a real Ford key off of EBay and program it myself.
If they just cloned it then you will not be able to program a 3rd key, FYI. They are clone keys and the truck will only see it as one key when trying to program.

So I went to Motorcrafts website and found out that you can have a maximum of 8 keys programmed for your vehicle. Here is a link to a pdf file with a break down. Passive AntiTheft System (PATS) SecuriLock Job Aid
