Default 2004 coil bolt issue. HELP

Hey guys. This is my first post so bare with me lol.

The nutsert that the coil bolt threads into is stripped. Is there a common fix for this? A helicoil? Also would y’all happen to know the bolt size of the coil bolt and nutsert? Thinking maybe I can drill it out and insert a new nutsert.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks guys and I will be posting a lot soon!

?

Not sure what engine you have... but on my '04 5.4 there is no "nutsert" just a threaded boss in a small aluminum tower that the coil retaining bolt threads into. Mine was also stripped, so I drilled it out and tapped it for a slightly larger bolt that I had lying around. I had to hog out the bolt hole in that coil so it would fit, but that was no big deal. Don't put much torque on them... they're small and thread into aluminum, and only serve to keep the coils from dancing around.

Default For this reason I have advised using just a little antiseize on them

Especially in rust country , Don't over torque.

the 5.4's are picky about how the plugs are torqued. you are asking for problems if you over torque or don't torque them enough

Are you talking about the small mounting bolt for the ignition coil?

I know what you're talking about. I have about 4 of them stripped out. I think someone told me to drill them out and use a slightly larger bolt. I haven't addressed it yet, because I haven't had a problem with it yet.
