Default 09+ emblems

Hey guys.

Just want to make sure before I buy my new emblems. As I have read tegu fit our trucks. All you have to do is take the old ones off and put the new 09 ones on correct? Nothing else to do besides that? Just want to make sure I read it all correctly before I buy them.

Thanks again

For the side emblems, yes. For the tailgate, you need the flareside emblem or else you'll need to sand it down a bit due to the curvature in the 09+ tailgates.
Other than that, you're good to go.

I asked the dealership for the flareside badge and they said there is only one part number. Is hat correct? Thought there was two as well

You will need part #9L3Z-9942528-E
That's for 2009 Flareside Tailgate Badge

Bumping for clarification.

So the 09+ side badges are a direct replacement to an 04. For reference, I'm going to be getting the red on black FX4 badges.

The rear badge will need to be sanded, but still uses the same mounting pins?

If I remember correctly, you'll actually be sanding off the mounting pins for the tailgate emblem. You're correct regarding the fender emblems.

Okay, I understand that. The 09+ badges will, however, cover the current mounting pin holes?

To be frank, I tried to DIY the stock badges a similar fashion. I took them off, prepped them, sprayed them all black and then tapped off the F150 portion to paint red. I'm not an artist and although to 85% of people they wouldn't ever notice, I'm not happy with the results, so this is my fall back.

Yes, they will cover the holes.

I understand what you're saying. It's something small, but it's your vehicle so you're the one that notices it.
The 2012+ emblems are two piece, so DIY painting on those would be much easier than previous year models.
