Knew I had a leak in the general Y connector area last night but couldn't tell exactly where. Today it appears my leak is from the hose pressed(?) into thermostat housing. So does that mean I need a new housing? The Y connector hoses seem pretty new, FoMoCo parts, and not too old judging by the stickers. Also, do you know if this Kit on eBay interchangeable kit with the 3.5 EB? Thanks

What year is your truck? When the dealer did mine under warranty, they claim they also did the t stat housing. whether it was needed, I dont know.

Been reading through an older post on the same topic, 2013 5.0 with T-Connector Leak, looks like a Pandora's box...... and probably explains why I now have a leak... I did attempt to replaced the thermostat a couple months ago with one from Autozone but the moment I did my cooling fans were on full time @ full speed, even after following all the air bleeding suggestions. Pull it, re-installed the original and it was all good again although the fans did seem still come on too often given that it's winter. I got a FoMoCo T-state last night from the dealership since I've been wanting to replace it anyway. But then I discovered a gross leak at the Y/T-connector

Two things come to mind regarding your new complaint about the fans: first, make sure you got all of the air out of the system and secondly, many of us were not aware that even during the winter your ac compressor comes on in defrost mode, which will also trigger the fans on at least low. If they are on high, I would think there is a lot of air in the system.

It comes on far more often than just when defrost is selected.

I read and followed all the recommended procedures to get air out of the cooling system before re-installing the original. The fans were on full time, not just when it was cold with the aftermarket t-stat. Thank you
