Default Y connector

Does anyone have issues with there y connector leaking coolant at the thermostat? I have recently changed all my hoses under the hood, thermostat, water pump, radiator, fan shroud, and belts and I still had a coolant leak. Today I took off my intake to check and my y connector at the left passenger side is not on tight at all. I finally had to use a zip tie to get the leak to stop. Is there another option than the OEM part? I also replaced the o rings.

Same kit I bought I was hoping someone had come up with a more secure attachment to the thermostat

I just changed the seals on mine. That fixed my leak and was not as expensive as a brand new housing.

Has anyone used the aftermarket brand Y-connectors with success? Rockauto currently doesn't have the Motorcraft part but they do have the Gates equivalent, and another brand too...

Gates should be safe to try if you're in need. These quick connects are considered one-time use.
