X plan pin
FYI
You get all rebates avail with X plan. Hard to beat that price, dealer will say that they will beat it. But by just a bit. But if you do the paper work on x plan - rebates see total much less then I have had any dealer come up with.

The invoice above is what the dealer is required to show you if it's a AXZ plan deal. Now everyone that said they can beat X-plan did the dealer show you this form, with the A and X plan listed along the bottom? I have been dealing wth X-plan a long time and the only time I beat AXZ plan was with end of year vehilces that where left over. Notice that the A-plan price is below invoice price and the x-plan is about a thousand dollars higher. A-Plan is what a Ford employee pays, somewhere in the area of 2% below dealer cost, X-plan is around 2% above dealer cost.
I logged into the Fordpartner.com web site, was redirected to the ford.com site, which then showed me the X-Plan Pricing on my desired vehicle (or any in-stock trucks). I separately confirmed that this was correct both by running the calculations jeff2015 shows, and by talking to the dealer.
The price I have quoted even adding in the additional doc fee, is about 700 under X-Plan.
X-Plan pricing shouldn't be hard to figure out. It isn't a secret formula, and the only way it would be other than what is referenced is if the invoice you mention is different than the invoices everyone else (Edmunds, truecar, etc) references.
I think that X-Plan pricing is good. But you can do better(though, as you say, time of year and dealer might make a big difference, and you may have to work at it.). For no-haggle, no-hassle, fair deal, I think it's a safe way to go, especially if you custom order. If you're like me, you think you're leaving money on the table somewhere regardless of the deal, because no-one is closing a deal if they aren't making money on it somewhere, and I don't want to pay one penny more than I have to no matter how much I want something. The question is where are they making it and how much are they making. (Beware the F&I guy!)

rider....I have been doing this for years. My neighbor owns three Ford / Lincoln dealerships in Northeastern Ohio, and he tells me you are not seeing the AXZ plan invoice. The dealer is only required to show that invoice to customers with a pin number in hand. Like I said X-Plan is basically $1000 above dealer cost, I find it hard to believe a dealer would sell a vehilce for $300 above there cost.

They get significant additional incentives with volume, and they make up the profit with customers who pay way to much and still think they got a good deal.

For the record I was able to beat X plan pricing on our new truck by roughly $3000 using a free service through Consumer Reports (I believe it's a partnership thing with Truecar.com).
