Default While waiting in O-Really's

I was in O-Really's about a month or so ago, getting myself a new triple + Hook tow bar for the new truck, while waiting to check I saw this 5'5" Brosuf walk in with his all black clothing and Black Monster hat on the flat bill. He walks to the service desk, which so happened to be the register next to the one I am waiting to check out, and the cashier goes to him next. In this stoned I just finished smoking a blunt voice, he asks "How much oil does an F-150 hold", The lady being as patient as ever kindly asks, "What year?" "Uhhh ummmm, 2012 F-150" "V8" he stonily answered back. "5.0 or 6.2?" The lady looked back up, "5.0" Brosuf replied.

Now while this conversation is going on, I am thinking "There is a manual in the glove box, read it, maybe"

Lady takes a few seconds and answers his first question, "7.7 Quarts sir". Brosuf, asks "does it matter what brand?" She answers " Brand is to your preference, but it needs to be SAE 5w-20 per our computer." And then tacks on, " do you need an oil filter to?" Brosuf with a puzzled look on his face, "Ok, do I need to change the filter too?"

At this point another clerk has asked to check me out, I personally think he did it to get closer to the amusement. I always talk to him usually when I go, his favorite part about working there is how clueless some people really are.

The lady after a short pause,(I could tell she was thinking of a way to word her reply), "You don't have to, but you will be throwing money away if you don't change it." Brosuf utters, "Ok, well where is all this at", she points to the Isle says, "You can get 2 5qt. containers or a 5 qt. and 3 1 qt. Containers, and what brand oil filter do you want?" Brosuf replies, " The cheapest one you got.

I am finished checking out at this point, and the clerk checking me out, mentions, to the lady helping Brosuf out, "isn't all that in the manual that is in the truck." Brosuf, with a stoned puzzled look on his face peaks around the corner, almost as if he was thinking, was that targeted at me, and there is a manual in my truck?

Upon returning to my truck, my wife is in the passenger with a grin on her face, so I asked, "What is so funny?" she replied, "you see that Jack-up black truck back there, he took 10 minutes to park it, on the line, not between" I Looked back, and to my amusement, Brosuf's 2012 Blacked out, Monster Stickered 6-9" Lifted, riding on 37s F-150 parked crooked( I am sure he had to Climb the tire to get to the running board). Wishing I had my phone or camera so I could show it off to you guys. This thing had a Fuel grille, which IMHO is hideous on any truck, Blacked out Lights, Front and Rear, Monster stickers all over the back Glass and the Windshield Eyebrow, LED Light bar over the Windshield, and some Fugly, OFF-road rims.

Apparently, he got his oil changed, because over this past weekend, I saw it on the Road(which is what reminded me to post this), The Tires made an Awful wine, over powering the RBP Exhaust, and his stereo shook my truck from 20' away. Obviously it is a show truck, and I hope it makes it through it's life in one piece.

I don't know if there is a thread like this, but I figured we could share our O-Really's(All three Franchise names are good) moments with each other here, weather they be our own or we witnessed them.

the very first snowfall we had this year, I was running to the store for beer and the first thing I saw was a lifted 09-12 F150 XLT scab with some overly aggressive bro wheels on it, he was driving down the road spewing out coolant and the front of the truck was all but split in half, the hood bent up so high I don't even know how he was able to see over it. quite clearly had slid straight into a pole or tree or something but decided to head home anyway so probably drunk. and sure enough, on the back window were Metal Mulisha, Monster and Fox stickers.

We can blame the fast and furious for the sticker craze. I remember when every Honda on the road had a "NOS" sticker on it, and a roll call of every aftermarket part that was or wasn't on the vehicle. Unfortunately that "modification" is still alive and well. But it does make it easier to pick the tools out. I prefer a less is more approach, but that's me.

Wow, I never go into a parts store unless I already know the parts I want
I don't see many lifted trucks around here, lots of work trucks
I thought you were talking about O'Reillys (?) - one just opened near me 2 weeks ago
Went there to buy my window part....actually wrote the p/n down then forgot to bring it with me

Maybe he didnt have a manual? Ive bought used trucks before that didnt have one.

Also you realize you were at o'reilly auto parts, where they ask you if its an automatic or manual transmission when buying wiper blades. What kind of clientele did you expect?

True, and every battery sale needs a make and model.

Seems like if I need an expensive part I usually buy it online for in store pick up at advance auto.
If I need a good part I buy it at oreillys.
If I need something and autozone is the only place around or open I usually wait until oreilly's opens. I try my hardest to make friends with the guys that work there. I'm at the point I can go to the back and get what I need off the shelf and use the computer if no one is available.

Back before the internetz, I would just ask the dealer for a manual and they usually just gave me one.
