If I need something and autozone is the only place around or open I usually wait until oreilly's opens. I try my hardest to make friends with the guys that work there. I'm at the point I can go to the back and get what I need off the shelf and use the computer if no one is available.
Ive never had good luck with o reillys. They always give me the wrong part or dont have it instock. Same with vatozone and carquest.

Napa has solid employees and they always have the part. Ive had great luck with them.

All the ricer guy's with Honda's and fart can mufflers have graduated to pickups it seems. I can tell who they are...gaudy crap all over their truck and have to race every one at the stop lights even though no one else is racing.

We have a PepBoys nearby my place that is pretty good ... but I say that with the caveat that I don't rely on them for information. I only go there to get oil/filters etc, and the occasional misc. part/tool if I need it. They seem to have a good stock of "everyday" stuff ... but I've never had to go get, for instance, an alternator, fuel pump, etc.

I try to avoid the stores at all other costs ...
