Complete waste of time and money. I too pondered this very question and went on my way locking nut shopping. Talked to a guy who sold them and he said that honestly its a waste of time and money, you can buy kits that have the wrench for every single locking nut out there for cheap, he showed me his, and he said they are far more likely to steal the whole truck than just the rims and tires as there are far more goodies they can get and its easier and faster to yank it up on a trailer than to take off all the tires. I said screw it and didnt get any locking nuts. If they want your rims they are gonna get them no matter what you have on them, lol!

If a thief has a choice of 2 trucks side by side, one with locks one without (all things being equal), which one would they pick? Locks just slow them down a bit.

Not really, any good thief will have every key, not really worth the hassle to me, but if it gives you piece of mind go for it, they aren't expensive. Just remember what I said when you get a flat and can't find your key, lol!
