Default Weak Bluetooth?

Ok, so I have a new 2013 Platinum that I traded from '10 FX2. In my FX2, I could leave my phone inside the house, on the kitchen counter (about 55ft) and it would connect and play itunes seamlessly.
Yesterday I had the bluetooth going and I had my phone in my pocket. I got out and walked not 5ft away from the truck and the music started skipping. Put the phone inside the truck it's fine.
Anyone else experienced this at all? I may have to add this to my list of things to fix... if there is one.

I can't comment on the truck side of it had not taken yet delivery of mine, but outside chance there is anything different with your phone? Another case maybe you put on it? I don't know. Just trying to think of some things that it might be to help you out. But I'm sure you would have thought of that already.

Have you tried a distance check with another vehicle?

Blue tooth is a short range transmission, you were lucky to get the previous range from your devices. It was not designed for transmissions over 20 or so feet.

Bluetooth is a short range wireless communication system. Most companies design it for only 10m (33ft) but real world application is generally less and dependent on both transmitter and receiver.

Someone who may not be a computer geek asked a question. We simply gave the answer.

Yes there are some questions that are asked and we look and say " geeze " but then that's what the forum is for, a learning platform.

Not a geek no but I know enough. I also knew that BT is usually good for at least 20-30ft. So answer why I can't walk more than 3-5 feet from the truck before it starts skipping.
...and excuse the heck outta me for asking about it here!!!

Im just trying to figure why its soo important? I mean as long as it plays fine with the phone in the truck, Who Cares if when you get out of the truck to walk down to get mail from your mailbox with the phone in your pocket and the audio skips! I just don't see the importance as your outta the truck anyways!!!useless thread to me, but JMO...Thanks
