Default upper control arms?

getting ready to install boss lift and wondered if i should just go ahead and do control arms also. reason i ask is my last truck i lifted with about 50k on it and had a ball joint go bad a month after install. my current truck i have 35k. i can get factory ones less than $300 which leads to my next question of factory or aftermarket? is it worth it? i will do minimal off roading, mostly fields and logging roads and it is my daily driver.

I'd say it can't hurt especially if you're keeping truck for a bit.

I run 2.25" on my Bilsteins with stick arms for two years now with no issues.

I have the ready lift boxed uca's myself and
they're great for off-roading but kinda pricey. If

you wanted to go that route here are a couple picture

Only draw back is they do require more maintenance than the stock uca. Also, since the uniball is more exposed, road salt may be an issue as far as longevity. Again, no personal experience, just pointing out a possible issue. I keep going back and forth on upgraded uca's, but road salt worries me.

Not really a lot of added maintenance, just greasing the bushings and I would think making sure to keep the area around the uniball clean to prevent dirt and what not from damaging the seals. Someone who actually owns them will chime in I am sure. Icon UCA's have a dust cap on top of the uniball to keep dirt from building up on top, bottom of the uniball is still exposed though.

How do you like that setup with the Fox 2.0? Did you adjust the coilovers at all?

Right now they're at the stock preset giving me about 2.5in of lift. And they're kinda stiff but still better than the factory shocks. I have new spindles coming in soon so when they get here I'll crank them down a bit to soften up the ride some more.

Yeah I have mine set at how they came out of the box, a bit stiff coming down a speed bump or pothole thinking of cranking them down some. What spindles did you get?

I went with the maxtrac 4" spindles. Only because they were about half the price of any others I could find and the reviews were pretty good. I'm trying to piece together a mid travel set up
