Default Underside LED Lights

Okay, i know you all have seen them. I think the harley truck is the one that comes with the lights under the dash the light up the gad pedals and that area. If you go to the ford site you will see what i am talking about. The blue lights.

So i went to autozone and guess what, they had some of these light kits on there. Now of course you have to figure out how to install them. Ohh, and i put them up just to see how they look with the batteries they came with and they look just like the stock ones they you would get if the dealer were to install them.

Easier said than done, as i am a total newb at this period. So i take a look under the dash, where the break pedal is at and to my surprise! No wires not where to be found. I mean there are a few on the left side. But they are so tucked away and tight that i am not sure how to proceed.

So, my question is have any of you installed anything like this yet? Or is there an actual kit you can buy that plugs right into somewhere?

I am at a lost and don't know where to start. I would like or them to come on when the instrument panel lights come on and off.

Well, any help is much appreciated. And it is a 2011 F-150 XLT.

I actually put some lights inside my truck yesterday. i went to an auto parts store and bought something called "add-a-circuit" which has a wire that you can connect accessories to. It plugs into a slot in your fuse box inside the cab and it has a slot for the original fuse and the new fuse for the accessory. Then you connect whatever you want to it and ground it. I even added a switch so i can turn the lights on and off.

I would think you will have to run your own wires for power, and I personally would also add a toggle switch somewhere in the line to be able to turn them on and off at will.

Yeah, i was thinking about that adding a switch. Just trying to find out a way on how to wire these correctly so that they function like the ones they put in at the dealer.

I know my truck is older, but i pulled my headlight switch out of the dash, and found the wire that adjusts the brightness of the dash, i tapped into that with a thicker wire, ran it along the bottom of my cluster behind the plastic, put a 15 amp fuse on it for safety, immediately followed by a switch thats in a plastic piece under the dash. Ive got a total of 16 LED bulbs running off of that.12 up front, 4 under the back.
