Two Years Later
Well it's been two years since I bought my truck new and what can I say, I still love it.
It has 44,000 km's on it now, and only a couple small warranty issues have come up.
- Front rotors "warped" - 40,000km
- Rear shocks leaking - 40,000km
Both of these were taken care of by Ford without any issue.
Engine, transmission and 4wd system are still performing flawlessly (knock on wood).
I still love the 5.0, great growl with silky smooth and strong power delivery, I'm sure the new ones are even better. I drive it pretty conservatively for the sake of gas mileage (avg 18.5 mpg) but every now and then I just have to put my foot in it to remind myself what it's capable of
Interior is holding up great and still feels as new as the day I bought it, just with a little extra dog hair..but what can you do.
I'm still running on stock rubber, the goodyear wranglers have been a decent tire but I'm thinking I'll be going to an all terrain tire for my next set, hopefully I can squeeze another couple years out of the stockers by keeping the mileage down.
If I have learned one thing over the past 4 years of owning new trucks it is that payments suck. This is my second new F-150 (traded in my 2011 for it). If I could go back in time I definitely would have slapped myself out of getting the first truck, would have saved a lot of $$$. But hey when your young and dumb this is the stuff you do and the lesson has been learned.
I'm planning on paying this truck off as soon as I can, keeping it in good shape and driving it for the next 10 - 15 years payment free
